Cute Things in Nikko

Let me introduce something cute that I found in Nikko!

☆HC Nikko Ice Bucks

Ice Bucks logo vending machine

HC Nikko Ice Bucks is the only professional hockey team in Japan.

The Bucks based on Tochigi Nikko Shimofuri Ice Arena.

I became curious, since Bucks's advertisement everywhere,

Even on a vending machine!

☆Yuba

Tofu skin is known as "Yuba", one of food products made by soybeans.

We can eat fresh yuba as "sashimi". 

There is a variety of recipe. Soup, salad, and also can be used for wrapping something,

cooked  with some vegetables.

This is "yuba soba",  hot soba noodle with Vegetables and yuba.

It tastes like tofu but more creamy.

Yuba is one of local speciality of Nikko.

So it's easy to find "something yuba" in Nikko.

God of Sweets?

This sign says he is a "God of Sweets"!

☆700 years old sacred cedar

about 60meter hight,
700years old tree.

Commonly shrines and temples have trees in yards,

But this Tosyogu's yards are woods!

And this tree is 700 years old.

Amazing. Just amazing.

☆Close at 6?

Nikko is very quiet at night even though

Very crowded with tourists at daytime.

Many shops and cafes are closed until 6 pm.

☆Monkeys in a town

she is a mother with baby monkey

Three wise monkeys are something you shouldn't miss in Nikko.

And monkeys in a zoo are cute..

But if you meet monkeys at town?

It's better to be careful!

They are wild animal.

You can see notices in everywhere in Nikko.

"Beware the monkeys"!
