But what is "Yosyoku", then?
If I try to explain it, Yosyoku is a kind of western-oriented dishes such as "omelette rice"(omelette wrapped rice), "curry rice", "hayashi rice"(hashed beef with rice), "pork cutlets", "hamburger(steak)", "gratin" and so on.

Japanese didn't have tradition to eat meat for long time, but after Meiji Restoration(the end of Edo-period(1603-1868)) in 1868, Japan met western civilization. And Westernization took part in cuisine also, in other words Japan imported a new culinary idea and developed in their way. That's why Yoshoku is not same with western dish, slightly different from originally form but still amazing. Yoshoku is kid's favorite also.
For me, Yoshoku is nostalgic food which reminds me my childhood. My dad loved TAIMEIKEN, and his favorite was "hayashi rice", and mine is shrimp gratin. It's enough for me to visit TAIMEIKEN to enjoy Saturday night dinner.
TAIMEIKEN locates in Nihombashi, only a few minutes from Nihombashi subway station(C5 exit). Just ready for a queue(1st floor not available for reservation), and enjoy!
